A Good Pair Of Yoga Pants Really Makes A Difference!

While you can clearly practice yoga in any sort of loose clothing, a good pair of yoga pants might really help. Most serious practitioners won’t practice with anything else.

Women tend to be much more discerning than men when picking out yoga fashions and if they don’t fit perfectly are unlikely to practice in them. So, you might as well buy the most perfect fitting and most comfortable pair right at the start. Sure, you can get away with spending very little money but like as not you are going to end up being very disappointed. So rather than going through the trouble and expense of buying several types that you may end up not liking, it’s best to just bite the bullet and get a nice set first thing.

Two important considerations you want to keep in mind when comparing yoga pants is the quality of material and the fit of the pants themselves. Always try them on while you are still in the store and maybe even try a couple of stretches or poses. Look for a smooth or brushed feel for the fabric. Natural cotton and hemp are ideal as is silk. Of course price will vary greatly depending on your fabric choice.

Some women like to wear shorts or even Capri pants when practicing yoga, and these are fine. That said the above requirements will still apply. You’ll want something that fits loosely around the waist so that it doesn’t bind you up when going through your asanas. Whether you want to choose an elastic or draw string waist is entirely up to you. Personally I prefer the flexibility of a draw string, but again, it is personal choice.

You can try different prints or old reliable solids for the actual look of your yoga pants. Some people go for the traditional white but nowadays many yoga practitioners are opting for pale earthy hues or even wild and outrageous designs. Of course you will often find the Sanskrit syllable “Om” emblazoned on them as well.

So whatever style of yoga you practice, be it “hothouse” yoga or the kundalini yoga or ashtanga yoga systems, having a nice pair of yoga pants can really make a difference.
